Save the best for last? Again the ride was shortened a bit. The first col (col des Vachers 1920m), 800 m climbing, which would probably contain 300 hm portage, was cancelled. As usual we started the day with some descending.
The smiles were immediately brought out, especially now that it turned out to be a very nice and challenging single track. The first 2.5 hours of the ride we did whistling.
One more climb had to be overcome. This was almost completely over a paved road. A gentle slope of 15km brought us to the Sanctuaire de la Salette. We filled our bottles with holy water, prayed and crawled via a single track to the col de d'Hurtières. We now smoke our stable. Our old prayers were immediately answered. The last descent was a real gem. Not for sensitive souls, utmost concentration was required! In the trend of "don't look down!" And "Fuck, where are we now end up again!" 58 km, 1650 m elevation gain
