The feeling of the high Alps lays now behind us. We ride south and you can tell by the flora. The exuberant and juicy floral wealth gives way to a more Mediterranean vegetation. These plants thrive on the warm and dry southern flanks where the lizards shoot in all directions when they see us passing. The feeling of "La vie en France" arises spontaneously. The intense blue waters of the lake of Serre-Ponçon is the eye-catcher for the next 2 stages.
Again, there is no shortage of challenging trails. The heat puts the body to the test. Philosophizing about who wants what when your body calls it a day (which felt like it could happen at any moment), we filled one climb after another while chatting.
