Last month I went out with our mountain bike club "Jardin Bertrand" to go biking for a week under the French sun.
The first plan to go to the high alps in mid-June (around Briancon) was canceled due to the late snowfall. Gambled and lost they call it. Fortunately we saw this coming just in time so we could shake an alternative out of our sleeves.
The most obvious region is the Drome and Buech valley. A region south of the Vercors plateau between the Alps and the Provencal sun with an abundance of beautiful single tracks, hidden villages, lavender fields and vineyards. Our own "chemins du soleil" (paths of the sun) became a fact.
Eventually we were able to make 6 day trips at a snail's pace of 10 km / h. Try to explain that at home. Pulling, dragging, sliding, steaming, cracks, poussage, portage, adrenaline, amazement, enjoyment ... those were the key words of this trip. Good for 45 hours of mountain biking pleasure ... 430 km and 17,000 climbed meters ...
